Hey there!
While watching some reels on instagram, I saw this quote said:
“The pain will go away, the strength will stay” Keith Lee
I felt I had to share it with you.
We often give up before we’re even done. The reason is because we don’t enjoy feeling pain, and so whenever we endure what we believe as “enough” we end up stopping. We feel that we have earned the stopping point, but the reality is that most of the time we should keep going.
In fitness, this is seen with sets until failure. Very often our muscles begin feeling soreness and pain from all the reps, and so people will end their sets before they put their muscles through failure. The pain of these reps are intense, but you must push through it in order to gain the most amount of strength and muscle out of the workout.
But this doesn’t only apply to fitness.
Not everyone lives a lavish lifestyle. Many people go through struggles in life. Some more than others, but struggles nonetheless. Don’t give up, even if you feel tired and in pain. Life will constantly continue putting barriers and obstacles throughout our path, but it’s up to us to become stronger after each challenging situation, and overcome these barriers and obstacles.
My parents have had to face many trials and tribulations throughout their life. My dad lived in poverty up until around the year I was born. This didn’t come easy- he had points where he worked 3 jobs. He learned many different skills, with one being learning how to weld and began earning a good amount to live a little more at peace- from worrying about not having food for the day, to being certain that there will be food for the whole week. This doesn’t mean life was good- now he’s facing problems with not being paid enough, vehicle issues, and still struggling to understand taxes and stuff like that. And my mom’s life wasn’t easy either. From several family problems, to having to work strenuous hours and keep up with the family bills.
But never once have they given up. They continue pushing on, fighting all of life’s challenges and always hopeful of a better future. And you know what, I think they not only do it to become better themselves, but they also do it to set an example. Working hard through these negative situations to create a positive atmosphere for our family.
You may be religious, or you may not.
If you are, one good quote I remember reading is somewhere along the lines of
“God gives the hardest battles to the strongest soldiers”
Continue pushing forward. I understand that at times it feels impossible to see a desirable future, but continue taking it day by day. Greatness has never been built in a day. That goes for every big city, every innovation in technology, every improvement in medicine.
During my latest injury, I was getting desperate- losing patience because I couldn’t continue making progress to reach my fitness goals. I had loads of time in my hands now. These negative thoughts were eating me from within. My mind felt defeated at times, but my soul understood that it couldn’t give up. I turned this huge negative into the start of something positive and started looking at how to make money- improving my finances and growing my income. With this came the idea, and the creation of NeverNothing.
Desperation will consume us many times, but it will just be another mental battle within yourself. This is where it is important to practice self-improvement. To be able to manage these negative thoughts, and turn them into fuel for positive actions.
Because remember, pain is only temporary.
It might hurt like hell right now, but soon enough you will gain strength from this painful experience.
And this new gained strength won’t go away, because you are no longer the person you were before.
Have a great day!
